Misty (Retired)
Misty was the second Siberian Husky we got. We got her when she was fully grown. We went to get a puppy and came home with a new puppy, Izzy, you'll see below, and Misty. Keith just couldn't resist. When we got her, she had never seen a collar or leash. Within two days Keith had her running along side him biking. Misty loves running, she's actually faster than any of our dogs, and she's extremely strong. She also has a gentle side to her. She makes a very good mother to her pups and she's not afraid to communicate to us her needs.
Izzy (Retired)
Izzy was the little all white Husky girl I decided I needed to have. I told Keith that I really wanted an all white little girl. When we went to look at Izzy, she just came to me and fell comfortably into my lap. She felt so comfortable with me from the beginning. Izzy is so different from Misty. I call her my lazy girl. Unlike the rest of my dogs, most of the time, Izzy would rather go for a walk than a run. She resists running, but she is the best when it comes to walking in perfect rhythm with you. She was the easiest to teach. She is so well with commands. She naturally wants to please you and is a very good girl. She's a very pretty dog.
Bandit (Retired)
Bandit is my second male Siberian Husky. He's like a big teady bear, so cuddly and lovable. He has the most beautiful blue eys you'd ever see. And the blackest nose. He has perfect markings. He is very well mannered. When it comes to a handing out treats, he'll make sure he's in his best behavior to make sure he gets a treat before the others. Very smart. Izzy and Bandit have been together since they were pups and are almost inseparable. Bandit gets along with everyone. Bandit loves to go to the farmers market and loves meeting people. I've taken him to Govern Dodge state park swimming and he's very well mannered and understands commands well. We've taken him to dairy queen with us and he'll hang out outside with us (during the summer) and wait while we have ice cream. He loves going for runs and going swimming at the creek. He is a follower and looks for lead from myself or the lead dog. He does hold his own though. Bandit I would say would be my gentle dog. So sweet and adorable.
Lily (Retired)
Lily is a smaller Siberian Husky. Full grown she is only about forty pounds. She is all white with beautiful blue eyes. She is very cute and she knows it! Lily thinks she is the star. She's been this way since day one. She thinks she's the leader, it doesn't matter if the others are bigger than her. It come natural to Lily to think she needs to be out front.
When we go for runs or walks she wants to be in front. This comes from her genetics. She has a history of past lead sled dogs and it's very apparent. She's doesn't scare too easily. The first time to the creek, she jumped right in the water. She loves to swim and never wants to get out of the water. It takes her longer to calm down than the rest, but once she's relaxed, she loves just hanging out with me in the living room watching my favorite shows. She also still likes having her kennel in the living room so she can have her own space when she wants to.

Kandi (Retired)
Kandi is so sweet. She's really mellow. She reminds me of the way Misty was when we brought her home, extremely gentle, but while Misty was scared and not so trusting, Kandi is trusting and isn't scared, she is just so content. Kandi is just nice and so cudily. I'm so excited that she joined our family. She's excited too. She likes going out with me when it is just me and her. She's really good with a leash and one on one walking and running, but becomes stubborn when told to do things in with the other dogs. She will hold back and doesn't like having to run with the rest. She's kind of stuborn. Her and Lily have a tendency to go round and round. Lily's a leader and Kandi doesn't like anyone leading her. She definately can hold her own.
I have found Kandi to be one of the best mother's. I'm thinking it's because she spent so much time around Misty. She is so gentle, yet protective. She communicates well with me and with her puppies. She is patient with them. She also makes sure she takes care of herself while caring for her pups. I've learned so much from her.

Alis
My nice Alis! She is so nice! I just loved her look from the first picture I saw of her. She is more of a follower through. She seems to just follow the pack.
She loves being close and she is extremely cuddly. She has a beautiful dark black coat and stunning blue eyes. Her face markings are so intense. She has a truly beautiful look. Her temperament is similar to Bandit's - very gentle - couldn't hurt a thing. She just is really content and loving.
Alis actually came from Aurora Borealis meaning the northern lights. I called Alis - Alis after Borealis. I always heard "the puppy will tell you his/her name" one way or another. I thought of the northern lights mostly because we drove pretty far north to get her and the other thing is I visual her when I watch the movie where the Siberian Huskies are howling at the northern lights. She is truly wonderful!

Ruby
Ruby is very full of energy and quite the cuddly dog. She's always the first to run up to you to ask for attention. She really loves to run and play. I have to be careful not to let her over run herself. It's easy for her to overdo it. She really wants to run, run, run, like everyone else is going slow, but she doesn't think about having enough energy to get home. She runs until she's done. Then she just sits. Kind of wore out. So I have to force her to slow down and not overdo it. She's catching on.
She loves to swim and get in the water and play. She even likes splashing in mud holes. So she definitely is the dog who always comes home dirty. She finds all sorts of watering holes. I tell her she acts like a Pig in a mud hole. I say Ruby - you're not a pig! I love Ruby! So much energy! But so calm and cuddly.
She's also gets along well with everyone. She's so nice. She doesn't ask for much but always tells you when she needs something. I feel like she's probably the best communicator out of our of our dogs.

Lucy
Lucy is just so adorable. I love her fun playful personality. She is the newest edition to our family and I'm so excited. She runs to me so excited to be close. Just wanting to play and have fun! I'm also so excited to have a dog that will produce the splash/piebald markings in the future!
She would be Bandit & Kandi's daughter. Her personality is so awesome. She's more playful than any dog or puppy I've ever had. And so fearless. And for good reason - she's got Daddy and Mommy in her corner.
She's quite the little cuddler just like Kandi and has the strength and durability like Bandit. She also has the stubbornness like Kandi and the gentleness like Bandit. It's neat seeing the personality of her parents come through in her.

Jack
Our newest male, Jack! He's so much joy! Reminds me so much of Bandit when he was a puppy. I feel so lucky to have found a male with exactly the nice gentle temperament like Bandit. So sweet and full of life! I just love him!
I can run him connected with any of our other dogs. Even though he can probably out run anybody, he's so gentle with whoever he is with. He loves to run, and swim. He doesn't ask for much, he's just a really content.
He's so beautiful. He is more than I could have ever imagined. I'm so happy that I am blessed with him. He truly tells you he's your friend every time he's around you.
The other day there was newly hit rabbit on the road during our peddle, and he grabbed it and carried it a few miles with him until we got to the creek, where he had time to eat it. He was so determined and proud of his game, like he was quite the hunter (even though it was already dead on the road). I was just amazed at how he could breathe and run with the rabbit in his mouth. It was quite the sight to see.

Gabi
|
Gabi has fit her name well. We always had a relatively quite pack before her. She howls like the rest of our friends, but she also barks. And she barks, and she barks. I've learned that it's her way of saying she wants attention from you. Or wants inside to get cuddle time. As soon as she gets a hug or gets what she wants, which usually is just cuddle time, she's all good.
She's awesome to take biking. She stays right next to you and is always a really good girl. She loves to run and swim. We got her and her sister, Ruby right before the Pandemic. It's hard to believe they're both over two already. Gabi is such a wonderful mother. She is such a Gabi - she does what you would assume a dog named Gabi would do - she barks when you go near her puppies, but give her a few hugs and she's fine with us being by her and the puppies. It's really fun to watch her with her puppies. She gives them kisses - just like I do with her. So cute!! |
